Damián Meta

Damián Meta is a Senior Director in FTI Consulting’s Technology segment advising companies across multiple industries. Damián specializes in data and analytics, business transformation, innovation and forensic data and analytics.

Throughout his career, Damián has led large-scale data and analytics initiatives, including the implementation of business intelligence solutions for leading South American companies. His expertise spans real-time systems integration, data structuring and modeling, dashboard publication, performance management and KPI definition, creating a unique reliable database for the company. He has a strong track record of transforming data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.

Damián has recently led several high-impact data and analytics projects. For two leading manufacturing companies, he designed and implemented a modern cloud-based BI platform that automated extract, transform and load (“ETL”) processes, reducing repetitive data engineering tasks by 60%. This initiative integrated technologies including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, data lakes, blob storage, virtual machines, SQL Server, Analysis Services and Power BI. He also directed the deployment of business intelligence in the tax area of a telecom company, driving the recovery of anticipated service value-added taxes. This included reprocessing taxes for a five-year historical period of prepaid service, managing more than five billion records per month.

For a leading personal products company specializing in professional haircare and beauty solutions, Damián oversaw the migration of the company’s BI system from on-premises to the cloud, enabling greater scalability and performance. And most recently, at one of Brazil’s leading hospitals, he conducted a generative AI proof-of-concept, integrating their systems with OpenAI’s GPT-4 to explore advanced applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare.

Damián has participated in more than 500 corporate investigations involving forensic analytics, forensic accounting, independent audits, internal control reviews, litigation and arbitration support and due diligence. He was responsible for supporting independent auditors in high-profile fraud cases, asset misappropriation, corruption schemes and financial investigations, also serving as a court-appointed expert witness.
