Du Preez Kirstein

Du Preez Kirstein is a testifying delay expert with more than 19 years of experience working with some of the largest engineering and construction companies in the world. Du Preez’s experience spans multiple sectors, including building, infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, transport and others throughout Africa, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia Pacific.

Du Preez has provided both prospective and contemporaneous planning support for live projects, as well as specialist forensic delay analysis and expert witness services to clients engaged in formal dispute resolution processes, including adjudication, arbitration and litigation. Additionally, he has worked on bespoke arrangements and projects involving the adoption of various contractual frameworks. He has had formal training on such matters, further enhancing his ability to identify contractual obligations that may affect project delivery and to prove and defend parties’ entitlements to time and costs.

Du Preez is actively involved in the claims and project management communities, enabling him to stay up to date with the most recent developments in the sector. To this end, he holds long-standing chartered memberships with the Academy of Experts, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Institute of Construction Claims Practitioners. He has also been honoured with fellowships at the Association for Project Management and the Australian Institute of Project Management.
