Elly DiLeonardi

Elly DiLeonardi (née Burrows) is a Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting with more than a decade of experience in corporate positioning, visibility and issues managements. Based in Chicago, she is a part of the segment’s Corporate Reputation practice.

In her role, Ms. DiLeonardi partners with clients to develop and execute multifaceted communications strategies aimed at protecting and enhancing reputation. She has worked with clients across a variety of industries, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to startups to trade associations. Additionally, Ms. DiLeonardi helps spearhead FTI Consulting’s “CEO Leadership Redefined” research on the shifting expectations stakeholders have of business executives.

Ms. DiLeonardi often partners with C-suite leaders to craft their thought leadership platforms and elevate their voices on issues of importance. On behalf of her clients, she has secured media placements in top-tier news outlets, such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and CNBC. Additionally, Ms. DiLeonardi has supported executives at a plethora of high-profile thought leadership events, like the Aspen Ideas Festival, The Wall Street Journal CEO Council and The Fortune CEO Initiative.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. DiLeonardi was on the public affairs team at FleishmanHillard. In this role, she executed the Illinois Office of Tourism’s domestic and international destination marketing campaigns and served as the community manager of the brand’s social media channels. During Ms. DiLeonardi’s tenure, the Illinois Office of Tourism received the award for “Best Social Media Campaign” by the U.S. Travel Association. She also supported The Skydeck at Willis Tower with visibility and issues management.

Throughout her career, Ms. DiLeonardi has provided pro-bono communications counsel to a variety of non-profit organizations in the Chicago community. She holds a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and a certificate in entrepreneurial management from the University of Iowa, where she graduated with high honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction.
