About Frederick
Frederick Hill is a Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting. He also leads the Telecom, Media, & Technology (“TMT”) Public Affairs practice in the Americas.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Hill served in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives for 17 years, most recently as the Communications Director for the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, where he was the leader of Chairman John Thune’s communications and media outreach team. In this role, he managed communications strategy surrounding the Committee’s priority issues, including efforts to update internet and electronic communications laws, consumer safety, reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration, and federal space and science programs.
Previously, Mr. Hill led communications for the House of Representatives’ Oversight and Reform Committee under Chairman Darrell Issa, where he served as an on-the-record spokesman and strategist for high-profile investigations of waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement.
Mr. Hill has extensive experience working directly with top-level decision makers and explaining complex public policy issues to national and sector-focused media. He possesses a keen understanding of the telecommunications and technology policy ecosystem as well as what moves the needle in policy discussions.
Mr. Hill holds a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in political science and the curriculum in peace, war, and defense.
