Mr. Barletta is a results-oriented leader with over 15 years of experience. He possesses in-depth knowledge of finance operations, digital content distribution and monetization, digital ad sales operations, and traditional and emerging technologies.
Mr. Barletta has experience partnering with CFOs, providing advisory services that have included the development and execution of budget and forecast process transformations, balanced scorecards, sales and operating model transformations and a review of sales strategy to drive segment growth. Among his most recent experiences, Mr. Barletta led the finance operating model transformation for a global music publisher, partnering with the CFO to perform a review of the global finance and accounting operations with the objective of identifying ways to reduce operating costs and increase quality of decision support provided to the business. Results included the development and execution of a road map to reduce the cost structure by 30%, principally by off-shoring transactional activities to lower cost locations, improving analytics and enhancing alignment of finance personnel with business to provide improved decision support.
Before that, Mr. Barletta led the budgeting and forecasting process transformation for a major media holding company, partnering with CFO and Advertising Sales division to transform their budget and forecast process with the objective of reducing the development time and increasing overall accuracy. Results included improving overall forecasting accuracy by eight percent and reducing time to produce forecast by three days. Budget accuracy also improved by eight percent and reduced time to produce by three weeks.
Additional examples of Mr. Barletta’s experience include leading the finance operating model transformation for a major technology company, working with senior leadership across finance and accounting to transform the finance operating Model, resulting from a major strategic acquisition, with the objective of reducing operating costs. Results included a redesigned finance operating model, which yielded improvements to the service delivery strategy for key transactional processes; off-shore vs. on-shore, consolidation of management reporting functions into a center of excellence and employment of robotics process automation and artificial intelligence technologies to drive efficiencies; resulting in cost reductions of $25 million.
Mr. Barletta led the development of a balanced scorecard for a major media holding company, engaging with corporate CFO and Controller to develop a balanced scorecard with the objective of standardizing the measurement of how divisions perform against key strategic imperatives. A review of newly developed strategy was performed along with conducting over 10 workshops with 100 participants across six divisions to narrow down to 20 scorecard metrics from 150 and aligned measurement calculations to help monitor the performance of the business and effectiveness of selected strategy.
Additionally, Mr. Barletta led a major component of an ad sales operating model transformation for a major media print and broadcast publisher, working with Chief Digital Officer to with over 30 on-line properties to transform their ad sales operating model and support their future growth in digital. The engagement helped the organization develop capabilities to support an increase in digital revenue of 40% across its on-line properties in three years.
