Hon Lee is a member of the Office of the CFO Solutions practice. Mr. Lee has diverse experience in interim roles within financial planning and analysis (FP&A) organizations and has led various strategic financial projects. His skillset includes expertise in financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, management and strategic reporting, business operations analytics, performance management and finance process transformation initiatives.
Mr. Lee served in various leadership FP&A interim positions, most recently lead the FP&A Strategy team for a Fortune 500 Veterinarian Supply Distribution company. He was responsible for developing a three-year strategic financial model, creating the business case for a NA shared service center, standing up cash-flow models and relevant process, and improving the P2P and month-end reporting cycle.
Mr. Lee has also led a strategic finance team for a Fortune 500 home equipment and furnishing company, helping accelerate the consolidated Corporate close process, gain efficiencies and standardization within the business units’ close processes, and developing a Corporate FP&A maturity framework to evolve the team from the legacy reporting function to a business partner minded value-driving focused function. Furthermore, Mr. Lee developed a model to create a by-client profit and loss statement including a robust methodology to allocate indirect costs, providing leadership visibility to identify and develop strategic growth plans for underperforming customers.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Lee served as a member of the Corporate FP&A team within a global multi-billion-dollar warranty company and as part of the Global Commercial Services’ Strategy and Analytics team within a leading hospitality corporation.
- Developed robust management reporting for finance and operations leadership at a Fortune 500 hospitality company, including leveraging various business intelligence tools and large financial datasets to gauge performance and identify risks or opportunities in key markets to make strategic, data-driven decisions
- Developed integration plans for an $11 billion company, including realigning the finance and accounting organizational structures and creating standardized consolidated financial and management reporting across the merging entities
- At a multi-billion-dollar retail warranty company, Mr. Lee held a role as part of a Corporate FP&A team and was responsible for managing the selling, general and administrative (SG&A) departments, including the annual expense budget, month-end variance analysis, annual compensation model and monthly expense forecasting
- Mr. Lee also optimized the SG&A function of an $800 million global industrial technology company, providing recommendations on a future state organizational structure and cost/investment initiatives for the finance and accounting, legal, information technology and human resources functions
