Jacopo Pichelli

Jacopo Pichelli is a Managing Director at FTI Capital Advisors, where he focuses on M&A advisory, investment strategy and value creation across the telecommunications and technology sectors in the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia. Jacopo brings more than 10 years of experience across leading strategy consulting and investment banking boutiques, advising telecom operators, digital infrastructure players and technology companies on complex strategic and transaction-driven engagements.

Jacopo’s work spans the full telecom, media and technology ("TMT") value chain, with a particular focus on data centres, towers, digital infrastructure, fintechs and digital platforms. He has led numerous buy- and sell-side mandates, supported corporate carve-outs and platform creation efforts, and advised on multibillion-dollar investment and partnership strategies for leading regional and global telecom groups. He has also played a key role in shaping commercial strategies, supporting market entries and defining value creation roadmaps for both incumbents and emerging digital and telecommunications players.

Furthermore, Jacopo has extensive experience advising leading telecom operators on large-scale transformation and infrastructure initiatives. He has supported governments on national broadband and spectrum policy design, 5G and Internet of Things (" IoT") strategies and continues to contribute to major infrastructure development agendas across the region. He has also led commercial due diligence and fairness opinion work for major cross-border transactions in telecoms, towers and digital services. Prior to joining FTI Capital Advisors, Jacopo worked at Analysys Mason, Delta Partners and Aetha Consulting. He is fluent in English, Italian and French.

Relevant Experience:

• Led the creation of a greenfield data centre platform in Saudi Arabia, including the carve-out of existing telecom assets and definition of investment strategy
• Advised a leading Gulf Cooperation Council ("GCC") telecom operator group on investment strategy and target selection across consumer and enterprise digital businesses
• Led more than 15 buy-side mandates for a major regional telecom group, including acquisitions in IT infrastructure, cloud services, digital marketplaces and fintech
• Supported a sell-side transaction of a digital transformation business in the Middle East
• Advised on potential cross-border telecom consolidation and tower infrastructure transactions across Asia and the Middle East
• Conducted commercial due diligence and fairness opinions on transactions across fintech, telecom operators and tower companies in Europe, Africa and Asia
• Supported national regulators and governments on broadband strategy, spectrum allocation and 5G/IoT policy frameworks
• Advised telecom operators on carve-outs, roaming strategy, wholesale strategy and network optimisation programmes
