Mr. Amling is FTI Consulting’s Head of Corporate Business Development and Chief Marketing Officer. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
In Mr. Amling's Chief Marketing Officer role, he oversees the global management of FTI Consulting’s brand, including client insights, digital marketing, creative development and agency management, marketing effectiveness, sponsorships and the publication of the FTI Journal.
As Head of Business Development, Mr. Amling leads the M&A function at FTI Consulting and also focuses on the coverage of selected Financial Sponsors, Sovereign Funds and Investment Banks.
Mr. Amling joined FTI Consulting from Deutsche Bank in 2008, where he was a Managing Director in the Media and Telecom Investment Banking group and a Vice Chairman in Corporate Finance. He began his Investment Banking career with Alex Brown in 1983 and founded its Media Investment Banking practice in 1990, a group which he led until 2003.
Mr. Amling’s clients included Clear Channel, Radio One, Entercom, Lamar Outdoor, Infinity/CBS/Viacom, Cumulus Media/Cumulus Media Partners, Emmis, Warner Music, Universal Outdoor, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Evergreen/Chancellor, Heftel/Hispanic Broadcasting and Univision, to name a few.
Mr. Amling is a 1976 High Honors Economics graduate of the University of Virginia and received his Law Degree from the University of Maryland in 1981 – Law Review. He is a member of the Board of Trustees and serves as Treasurer for the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs. Mr. Amling also serves as a member of the Town of Palm Beach Retirement Board of Trustees.
