About Jennifer
Jennifer Kaplan is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications segment and is based in Washington, D.C. Ms. Kaplan specializes in public affairs and leverages more than 20 years of experience providing counsel to C-suite leaders, boards, senior government officials and business executives on managing political risk and regulatory affairs, building transformation strategies and corporate reputations, and developing effective multi-sector stakeholder engagement plans.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Kaplan worked in the private and public sectors, most recently serving in the Biden-Harris administration as Senior Advisor to Gina Raimondo, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, and then as Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor to Stephen Benjamin, the Director of the Office of Public Engagement. In both roles, she developed and executed strategies to connect the expertise of Fortune 500 companies and regional business leaders to administration initiatives, from supply chains and infrastructure to trade, technology and geopolitical priorities. In the Obama administration, Ms. Kaplan served as Director of the White House Fellows Program and as Deputy Director of the White House Council on Women and Girls.
Previously, Ms. Kaplan helped launch the Greater Washington Partnership, a regional coalition of leading employers from Baltimore to Richmond, and was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs, where she built and led the 10,000 Small Businesses program in Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit.
Early in her career, Ms. Kaplan held a number of political roles and served as the Tri-State Finance Director for the 2008 Obama presidential campaign.
Ms. Kaplan holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She and her family reside in Bethesda, Maryland.
