About Jocelyn
Jocelyn Sum provides consulting and expert witness services involving economic, financial and valuation analyses to clients involved in litigation, arbitration or mediation. Ms. Sum has experience in the calculation of damages and assessment of potential economic harm in both commercial disputes and intellectual property matters.
Ms. Sum’s experience includes matters involving breach of contract, contract disputes, irreparable harm, shareholder disputes, patent infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, false advertising, copyright infringement, trademark infringement and trade dress infringement. She has experience in creating analyses, providing testimony and assisting experts in the preparation of expert reports and related testimony in matters involving calculation of damages based upon lost profits, disgorgement, evaluation of Georgia-Pacific factors and determination of a reasonable royalty. Her project experience spans a wide variety of industries, including software, pharmaceutical, financial services, retail and consumer goods, music and artificial intelligence.
Ms. Sum also has experience in valuation-related matters and matters involving lost earnings. She has assisted on damages assessments involving determination of lost business value as a result of loss of employees or business interference and in cases involving lost earnings potential or lost opportunity damages. She has also consulted on matters involving assessment of the reasonability and supportability of company valuations.
Ms. Sum graduated cum laude from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business with a B.S. in Business & Political Economy.
