About Joe
Joe DeSantis is an expert in manufacturing and supply chain excellence with more than 30 years of experience in developing and implementing operational, financial and continuous process improvement solutions for global companies. Mr. DeSantis has industry expertise in a wide range of sectors, including food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, food and beverage services, contract manufacturing, technology, transportation and logistics.
Mr. DeSantis advises the senior management of companies that are experiencing significant operational and financial challenges. In this capacity, he works with companies that are looking to streamline workflows to eliminate waste and add value. He is an expert in operational strategy and effectiveness and delivers creative and sustainable solutions that generate long-term value to both stakeholders and customers.
Mr. DeSantis leverages his strong financial and analytical skills and industry knowledge to support his clients’ needs across all business and functional areas. In addition to being a senior member of the Food, Agriculture & Beverage practice, he is the Business Transformation Lead for FTI Consulting’s higher education go-to market (“GTM”) and strategy team.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. DeSantis was a Partner and the Performance Improvement Practice Leader for Total Solution Partners, a firm he co-founded in 2011.
Relevant Experience:
- Led a manufacturing strategy assessment for a global cheese products company; focused on supporting existing customer demand and new product development
- Evaluated end-to-end manufacturing processes for a global food service provider; focused on product costing, production efficiency, equipment utilization and production planning
- Led a transportation and logistics cost reduction assessment and a customer/product profitability assessment engagement for a large fluid milk company
- Evaluated and identified action plans for a global consumer products company; focused on down-time, change-over and product quality
- Evaluated the facility footprint and recommended a future state network design and manufacturing production strategy for a global home goods manufacturing and distribution company
- Led a manufacturing plant turnaround for a large soup and ready-to-eat food manufacturing company; resulted in a reduction in operating cost of more than 25%
- Performed an in-line production assessment to identify gaps and areas for improved productivity across multiple facilities for a global professional goods and paper company
