Kate Marchant

Kate Marchant is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting. Ms. Marchant helps life sciences organizations turn strategy into execution by working with leadership teams to develop strategy, translate it into executable operating plans and lead complex initiatives across pharmaceutical development, manufacturing and commercialization. Her areas of specialization include business operations, governance, enterprise program leadership and cross-functional execution.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Marchant served as Executive Director of Strategy and Business Operations for Commercial Manufacturing and Supply Chain at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. She established and led the organization’s Strategy and Business Operations function, overseeing strategic planning, governance, project management, operational excellence, business analytics and digital initiatives for the global manufacturing organization.

Ms. Marchant holds a B.S., in Environmental Science and Toxicology from the University of Massachusetts and an M.B.A., from Boston University. She received the Platinum VOCAP Award from Vertex in 2012 and the Palladium VOCAP Award from Vertex in 2017.

Relevant Experience:

• Built a new Strategy and Business Operations organization to support the rapid growth of a global manufacturing organization
• Developed operational excellence, analytics and digital strategy to improve performance visibility, strengthen execution and eliminate operational inefficiencies
• Led integration planning for a newly acquired product into manufacturing operations, including the transition of more than 30 manufacturing and supply agreements
• Developed an end-to-end manufacturing turnaround time model for a commercial cell and gene therapy product to improve planning and operational effectiveness
• Partnered with the Chief Commercial Officer to lead executive business reviews, earnings preparation, executive communications and strategic initiatives across the global commercial organization
