Mario Bermudez

Mario Bermudez works in the Accounting and Financial Reporting Advisory group. Mr. Bermudez has more than 15 years of accounting and financial reporting experience involving outsourcing services for real estate investment trusts (“REITs”), real estate opportunity funds, and real estate investment and development companies.

Mr. Bermudez's responsibilities include SEC, GAAP and income tax basis financial reporting. Mr. Bermudez has extensive experience in GAAP accounting for investments in securities and whole loans, accounting for various financing arrangements and complex derivative instruments, as well as GAAP and SEC financial statement disclosures. In addition, Mr. Bermudez actively assists his clients in managing the audits of financial statements, preparation of tax returns, REIT testing and preparation of additional reports for investor presentations.

Currently, Mr. Bermudez focuses primarily on providing financial outsourcing services to public and private mortgage REITs as well as real estate debt opportunity funds.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Bermudez was with The Schonbraun McCann Group, a dedicated real estate advisory firm which was acquired by FTI Consulting in 2008.
