Mark Zimdars

Mark Zimdars is an internationally experienced lawyer with more than 25 years of industry experience, particularly in the railway sector. Mark’s expertise spans legal, commercial and contractual advice, with a focus on crisis management and turnaround of non-performing projects.

Mark has extensive experience in drafting, monitoring and optimizing complex contracts and their execution throughout the entire project lifecycle. A focus of his work has been on renegotiating contracts, avoiding or resolving conflicts, preparing, managing and negotiating major disputes and claims, as well as leading court proceedings, arbitrations and mediations.

Mark’s expertise in dispute resolution and contract management is complemented by his experience in national and international tenders, procurement support, M&A, corporate law and compliance. He has lead negotiations for rail and infrastructure projects in the amount of up to EUR1 billion with private and public sector clients.

Mark possesses a strong intercultural understanding through his international experience, having worked on projects in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and North and Latin America.

Mark has held board-level, supervisory-board and managerial positions in several undertakings of a global rail transportation company. He is a fully qualified lawyer in Germany.
