Matt Simmons

Matt Simmons is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Trial & Arbitration Support practice. Mr. Simmons has more than 25 years of experience in the legal industry, including 15 years at FTI Consulting providing trial technology consulting and courtroom support for hearings, trials and arbitrations. Mr. Simmons has traveled the country supporting clients in state and federal jurisdictions in a wide range of matters, including antitrust, patent, trademark, trade secrets, product liability, Consumer Protection Act, False Claims Act and breach of contract cases. He also has extensive experience supporting proceedings at the United States International Trade Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as well as the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (“ICSID”).

Over the last 15 years, Mr. Simmons has worked closely with top law firms including Williams & Connolly, Sidley Austin, Irell & Manella, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and Bartlit Beck. He has assisted legal teams supporting Albertsons, Bank of America, Bayer, Cardinal Health, CVS, ConocoPhillips, GlaxoSmithKline, Goldman Sachs, Johnson & Johnson, LG Electronics, Microsoft and Pfizer. Mr. Simmons has worked with clients on a wide range of litigation matters, including serial litigation matters involving multiple firms litigating dozens of cases in venues across the United States.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Simmons was a Senior IP Paralegal and Case Manager at a large international law firm in Washington, D.C. During this time, he managed case teams through every stage of litigation, including managing trials. Mr. Simmons has since focused on developing expertise in trial technology solutions and courtroom presentation. He has also served as lead technician, managing trial technology teams from multiple firms, coordinating technology and logistics for large-scale serial litigation.

Mr. Simmons holds a B.A. in Social Sciences from California State University, San Francisco.
