About McKay
McKay Jacobson advises companies and their capital partners on financial and operational restructurings, both in-court and out-of-court. Mr. Jacobson’s experience spans liquidity management, business plan development, stakeholder coordination and financial planning and analysis (“FP&A”), as well as stabilizing operations to maximize enterprise value. He has advised clients across a range of industries, including financial services, aviation, telecommunications, exploration and production (“E&P”), consumer products and healthcare.
Mr. Jacobson’s experience includes cash flow forecasting, business plan development and analysis, Chapter 11 preparation and operational readiness, corporate FP&A and integrated financial modeling.
Mr. Jacobson was a four-year letterman on the football team at Brigham Young University and signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles. He holds a B.A. in Japanese from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A. from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
Relevant Experience
- Advised PrimaLend Capital Partners, LP on Chapter 11 strategy, post-petition reporting and overall restructuring execution
- Led out-of-court restructuring efforts for an aviation company, including 13-week cash flow forecasting and negotiations with lessors and trade vendors to support liquidity improvement
- Advised a public company on short-term liquidity management, including preparation of weekly 13-week cash flow forecasts, variance reporting and analysis of opportunities to improve near-term liquidity
- Supported strategic and operational initiatives for a nutritional supplements company, including vendor management optimization, liquidity planning and long-term business plan development, contributing to a successful out-of-court restructuring of first lien debt and incremental working capital investment
- Led restructuring efforts for Endologix, Inc., a medical device company, including 13-week cash flow forecasting and debtor-in-possession (“DIP”) reporting, and supported the Chapter 11 plan of reorganization, resulting in the elimination of approximately $180 million of prepetition debt
