About Michael
Michael Ricafort is a leader in FTI Consulting’s Business Transformation, Office of the CFO Solutions practice. For more than two decades, Mr. Ricafort has assisted business leaders to operationalize improvement opportunities. He has focused on finance and accounting transformation, process improvement, organizational re-design, benchmarking, analysis and reporting, compliance and acquisition integrations. Additionally, Mr. Ricafort has extensive experience in Global Business Services (“GBS”) and shared services strategy and implementation across various functions.
Mr. Ricafort’s consulting experience spans several industries, including retail/wholesale/service, distribution and logistics, aerospace and defense, agriculture, automotive, construction, energy, food and beverages, financial services, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, media and entertainment, SaaS and telecommunication.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Ricafort held various leadership positions in the consulting practices of The Hackett Group, KPMG and Slalom Consulting. He also has worked in industry roles at Stanley Black & Decker and State Farm Insurance, where he supervised and mentored employees; directed and administered operational processes within travel and entertainment (“T&E”), accounts payable (“A/P”), general ledger (“G/L”) and Internal Audit; supported acquisition integrations; implemented applications (e.g., Concur, Blackline); and generated financial reporting and analysis.
Mr. Ricafort holds a B.S. in Accounting from Purdue University and is a former Certified Public Accountant in the State of Indiana.
Relevant Experience:
- Project Director for a national construction company to define opportunities across a decentralized operating model to establish more structure and consistency across the finance processes. Focus: Order-to-Cash processes: sales contracting, customer data, progress billings and collections
- Project Director for a global clothing retailer to redesign the financial close, reporting process, and governance processes. Focus: quarterly close and financial reporting package enabled by an updated close calendar and metrics
- Project Director for a global agriculture company to implement a financial close and reporting process, Oracle consolidation tool and global chart of accounts (“CoA”); focus was on month-end close and financial reporting package enabled by the Oracle application
- Project Director for a global services company to implement a monthly close process with associated financials and KPIs, CoA design for new enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) and org structure development; focus was on month-end close, three-statement financial reporting package and related financial metrics
- Project Director for a global SaaS company to assess, design and operationalize a Finance Transformation Office (“FTO”) for the new Chief Accounting Office; focus was on project governance, change management and benefits tracking
- Project Director and GBS lead to assess, design and operationalize a multifunctional domestic GBS center for a building solutions company; scope included A/P, A/R, purchasing, HR and master data management (“MDM”)/CoA
- Project Director and Finance Lead to assess, design and operationalize a multifunctional GBS center for a medical products distribution company; scope included A/P, A/R, customer service, purchasing, expense payables, contract/rebates and MDM; focus areas were reorganization and process best practice models
- Project Director to define and implement a future state GBS operating model for multinational media and entertainment company; scope included accounting, A/P, A/R, and financial planning and analysis (“FP&A”); focus areas were reorganization and process best practice models
