Nathan Ramsey

Nathan Ramsey specializes in the global food and agriculture industry and has more than 20 years of consulting experience paired with technical training in engineering, plant sciences and business. Mr. Ramsey’s skills complement a lifetime of experience in agricultural production, having been raised on a farm. As co-leader of the Food, Agriculture and Beverage group at FTI Consulting, Mr. Ramsey focuses on agriculture, agribusiness and the various value chains that agriculture supports.

Mr. Ramsey specializes in the areas of corporate, competitive market and business unit strategy, along with the necessary operational and functional planning efforts required to bring growth and innovation objectives to life in a complex and increasingly connected food system.

Mr. Ramsey has served numerous leading food and agriculture companies, including Monsanto, Cargill, Novozymes, Wilbur-Ellis and the United Soybean Board. He has also assisted a number of clients in crop production, animal production, food supply chains, renewable energy feedstock production and biological, chemical and equipment technology innovation markets in both North and South America.

Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. Ramsey founded Pragmatic Ag Solutions, where he focused on bringing clients practical solutions in the areas of strategic business growth and innovation using expert-led teams. Preceding this role, he was a principal in Ernst & Young’s Parthenon Strategy practice and held a leadership role within the agribusiness sector team.

Relevant Experience:

• Served as an advisor for a more than $40 billion transaction in the agricultural inputs sector
• Developed value capture strategies and value estimates for multiple new technology innovations in the seed, biotechnology, biological and chemical market sectors
• Developed novel go-to-market strategies and implementation plans in both North American and South American seed and crop protection markets
• Led customer experience operational transformation design with a leading agricultural retail organization
• Developed global business strategies for a leading agricultural commodities processor and a top alternative protein producer
