Navin Waghe is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Navin’s main practice area is expert witness work in the context of arbitration, litigation, and competition matters.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Navin was a Principal at LECG, an economics and financial consultancy. Prior to this, he worked in the assurance and business advisory practices at PricewaterhouseCoopers for over five years where he performed and managed audits and other assurance related projects.
Navin has more than 20 years of experience as an accountant, financial analyst and economic consultant.
Navin is an expert in valuation, the assessment of lost profits, accounting disputes, wasted costs, and opportunity costs. He has been appointed on matters before the UK courts, as well as ICC, PCA, SCC, LCIA and SIAC tribunals.
Navin has also been appointed by both parties to disputes as the Single Joint Expert and by the ICAEW on valuation and accounting disputes under the Presidents appointment scheme.
Navin is also an expert on providing competition and regulatory advice, particularly in relation to follow on damages, market investigations, asset valuations, pricing issues, cost allocation and accounting separation. He has acted before competition authorities, government departments, and regulatory bodies.
Navin has given oral evidence before the UK High Court, arbitral tribunals, in Expert Determinations and before competition bodies. He has been named as a leading expert witness for the quantification of damages in “Who’s Who Legal: Consulting Experts” since 2016 and in “Who’s Who Legal Arbitration: Experts Witnesses” since 2018.
Earlier in his career Navin was named by Accountancy Age as one of UK’s top 35 accountants under the age of 35.
