Peter Heinz specializes in restructuring, and his experience includes both creditor and company-side engagements. He has industry expertise in energy, power and products; retail and consumer products; and financial institutions. Mr. Heinz has more than 15 years of experience, including more than ten years in the restructuring field.
In both in-court and out-of-court restructuring scenarios, Mr. Heinz has represented and actively negotiated with stakeholders to best position his clients throughout the restructuring process. He has worked on and led projects including cash flow forecasting, business plan analysis, lease rejection and assumptions analysis, enterprise valuation, financial statement analysis, liquidation analysis, derivative valuation and bankruptcy administration. In addition, Mr. Heinz has extensive experience managing both internal and external teams.
Most recently, Mr. Heinz has served as financial advisor to numerous secured lender groups within the oil and gas sector. His role involved leading the diligence of the Borrower’s business plan, cash flow forecast, and reserve reports, and presenting his team’s findings to the syndicate. In addition, Mr. Heinz participated in multi-party negotiations of DIP and exit financing terms.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Heinz worked as a commercial banker at Hinsdale Bank & Trust, where he managed a portfolio of commercial real estate and commercial and industrial loans and underwrote new commercial loan requests for presentation to senior management. Before that, Mr. Heinz worked as a financial planning & analysis business manager for the Fixed Wing Division and Development programs at Elbit Systems of America.
Mr. Heinz is an active participant in the local Dallas professional restructuring community, including serving on the Board of the Dallas/Fort Worth chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.
