About Quincy
Quincy Jones is a Senior Managing Director with close to 30 years’ experience advising corporations, private equity firms, lenders, boards of directors, government entities and law firms on complex technical, commercial, financial and strategic matters involving capital-intensive industries. Mr. Jones has authored numerous expert reports, provided deposition and hearing testimony and advised on matters involving billions of dollars in enterprise value, capital investments and commercial claims.
Mr. Jones has extensive experience across refining, petrochemicals, industrial gases, LNG and natural gas. His experience also extends to pipelines, terminals, shipping, carbon capture and hydrogen, as well as fertilizers, metals, specialty chemicals, polymers and offshore drilling. He has served as an expert in matters involving major global companies and large-scale industrial projects throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. Mr. Jones focuses on disputes, transactions and strategy involving large capital-intensive assets and businesses. His experience spans international arbitration, litigation, expert testimony, damages analysis and mergers and acquisitions. Furthermore, his expertise includes due diligence, valuation, restructuring, project development and technology commercialization, as well as intellectual property, capital project execution and corporate strategy.
Throughout his career, Mr. Jones has advised clients on contract disputes, joint ventures, business interruption, force majeure and construction delays. He has also advised on cost overruns, failed transactions, trade secrets, project feasibility, operational performance, capital allocation and bankruptcy proceedings. His work frequently integrates engineering, operations, economics and industry customs and practices to evaluate complex business and technical issues.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Jones served as a managing consultant in LECG’s Petroleum & Chemicals practice, where he advised clients on litigation and business strategy. Earlier in his career, he worked with Chemical Market Associates, Inc. (now S&P Global and Chemical Market Analytics), where he advised clients on supply, demand, pricing and investment decisions. He also held engineering roles with Lummus Technology, Chevron Lummus Global and Mobil Oil, where he gained hands-on experience in process technology, project execution, refinery operations, petrochemicals and large capital projects.
Mr. Jones holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Rutgers University (Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors). He holds five process-related patents and currently serves as Chair of the Advisory Board for the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University.
