Ross Towler

Ross Towler has more than 13 years of experience as a dual-qualified Chartered Civil Engineer and accredited expert witness, specialising in the forensic analysis of construction delays. Ross has participated in the management and delivery of some of the largest and most complex commercial, residential and civil engineering projects both in the UK and overseas having worked for a top-tier UK contractor and leading global consultancy practice.

Ross has been instructed as an independent delay expert in litigation and adjudication proceedings as well for loss adjusters in insurance claims and as the lead assistant in international arbitration proceedings. He has assisted clients in successfully securing extensions of time and additional payments. He has worked with a variety of construction contracts and procurement options, including traditional, Design & Build/Engineer-Procure-Construct and construction management forms across the energy, infrastructure, residential and commercial sectors.

Ross takes great pride in the veracity and factual detail of delay analysis and precise and succinct expert reports, distilling even the most complex problems into clear key issues. He is a proponent of technological and data analytics initiatives in the analysis of construction project delays. This increases the capacity to assess large amounts of data and in turn provides a broader and more robust investigation as the basis for expert opinion.

Ross is competent in the use of all planning software packages (e.g. Primavera P6, Powerproject and Microsoft Project) and experienced in the use of all industryrecognised delay analysis techniques. Ross holds an M.Eng. from the University of Nottingham and an LL.B. in Law from the BPP Law School in London. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, he worked for top-tier contractors as an engineer.
