Sam Scerri is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting, where he leads the Data & Analytics team in Australia. With more than 15 years of experience, Sam brings deep expertise in financial services, risk management and technology-driven solutions. His strategic insight and leadership have been instrumental in driving digital transformations for some of the largest organisations in regulated industries.

Sam’s broader experience spans corporate finance, treasury management and advisory, where he provides critical counsel on matters of capital optimisation, liquidity and financial restructuring. His extensive knowledge of financial markets allows him to offer tailored solutions that support clients’s growth while mitigating risk. Sam has also played a key role in complex financial advisory projects, ensuring clients can navigate volatile market conditions with confidence.

Before joining FTI Consulting, Sam held roles at KPMG, Accenture and ANZ. At ANZ, he served as a senior banker and led initiatives across institutional banking and advisory services. His engagements are often highly sensitive and time-critical, typically involving regulated issues where accuracy, expert advice and strategic direction are essential. Sam has worked closely with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (“ASIC”), the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (“APRA”) and various other regulatory bodies, advising major clients on compliance, risk management and audit-related matters. Sam’ss combination of data and analytics expertise, corporate finance knowledge and advisory experience makes him a trusted partner for organisations seeking to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and drive business transformation.

Relevant Experience:

• Led a liquidity and treasury risk remediation program for a global investment bank; designed a data risk framework and led a multi-skilled team to assess control gaps; collaborated with auditors to address issues and meet industry data risk requirements, positioning the bank to effectively respond to audit findings and APRA’s requirements
• Led a pricing promises review for a major insurer; developed a system to process more than 300,000 unstructured data forms using optical character recognition (“OCR”), machine learning and AI; delivered a custom Power BI dashboard and regulatory report to ASIC, enabling the insurer to inventory pricing promises and detect potential duplicates at scale
