About Sherryn
Sherryn Schooling has more than 15 years of investor relations (‘IR’) experience, with a particular focus on capital markets and financial communication, M&A and transaction advisory, IR strategy, corporate governance and investor targeting. Additionally, Sherryn specialises in sentiment surveys, as well as stakeholder engagement and reputation management.
Sherryn provides corporate communications and capital markets advisory to listed and dual listed clients, delivering best practice IR strategies, financial communications advice and corporate equity story development. She is experienced in developing and managing relationships with key buy-side investors and sell-side analysts, managing results-day logistics and collateral and coordinating corporate access.
Working across communications disciplines in a variety of industry sectors, Sherryn also oversees the development and delivery of strategic messaging, media relations, stakeholder engagement and corporate communications, providing strategic advice on crisis and reputational issues.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Sherryn spent seven years as Head of Investor Relations and Assistant Company Secretary for a London-listed diamond mining company, where she was the interface between the company, the board, its shareholders and the financial market.
Relevant Experience:
- Advised Distell on financial and internal communications related to Heineken’s offer to purchase Distell
- Supported MultiChoice around the offer from Canal+ to acquire all outstanding MultiChoice shares
- Supported Prosus in its hostile £4.9 billion cash offer for Just Eat
- Provided strategic advice on defeating the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (‘JSE’) proposal to cap Naspers and Prosus on the JSE indices
- Developed the IR strategy, financial communications and IR programming support for Exxaro on a long-term contract
- Conducted an investor sentiment survey and advised Sanlam on re-articulating its equity story
- Provided financial communications support for Coca-Cola Bottlers Africa’s capital markets day
- Supported Mediclinic International as part of a joint mandate with FTI Consulting’s UK offices on investor relations and financial communications; provided crisis support for the company’s Southern Africa business
