Simon Kirkhope

Simon Kirkhope is a Senior Managing Director in the Restructuring practice within the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment at FTI Consulting. He is based in London.

Mr. Kirkhope has more than 15 years of restructuring and insolvency experience in the United Kingdom and internationally. He provides advisory services to clients on consensual and non-consensual restructurings, where the use of strategic insolvency and enforcement options may be necessary to deliver optimal solutions. He has significant experience of using insolvency office holder powers as part of wider forensic/fraud investigations and cross border asset recovery actions.

Recent engagements of Mr. Kirkhope’s include acting as the joint administrator of International Acoustics Company Ltd, an international manufacturing and contracting business specialising in the provision of sound control materials; acting as the joint administrator of Cash Stores Ltd, a UK payday loan provider; acting as the administrator/receiver of various real estate companies (commercial property, student accommodation, residential); advising the Board of Hellenic Bank, one of Cyprus’ largest banks, on the work-out of its non-performing loan portfolio; acting as the joint administrator of 2e2 UK Ltd, a European IT services business; acting as joint administrator of Green Oil Plantations Ltd, an unregulated bio-fuel investment scheme; serving as the advisor to the syndicate lenders to Hampson Industries, a listed aerospace tooling and components business with operations in the United States (U.S.), UK and India and acting as the administrator in the subsequent pre-packaged sale.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Kirkhope was with Deloitte’s restructuring team, where he worked on numerous high profile engagements, including the contingency planning on behalf of Dubai World; and serving as advisor to the boards of various UK retailers, including Game Group and Peacock Group.

Mr. Kirkhope is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, a fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Mr. Kirkhope holds a B.Eng. in Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering from The University of Bath.
