Stefan Flicke is a key member of the Business Transformation team, bringing extensive expertise in conceptual planning and a keen eye for crafting implementable solutions. With 15 years of experience in consulting, Stefan has led operations strategy, performance improvement and conceptual planning projects, driving both design and successful implementation.
Stefan leads interdisciplinary teams to deliver actionable solutions that enhance business performance in alignment with strategic objectives. Throughout his career, he has overseen large-scale projects across a diverse range of industries, including high-tech, electronics, special machinery, automotive and manufacturing. With a background in operations, production and logistics planning, Stefan has developed a deep understanding of the challenges within the manufacturing sector. This insight enables him to create strategic approaches focused on lean production, manufacturing excellence and smart factory initiatives. He is a purpose-driven leader with a versatile skill set that spans from the shop floor to executive management.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Stefan was a Partner at an international consulting firm and was part of the global leadership team. In this role, he was responsible for developing new service offerings, such as smart factory solutions, sustainability in operations and operations strategy.
Relevant Experience:
- Led a global production footprint project for an automotive supplier; analyzed products, markets and suppliers, defined a reference production footprint with optimal capacities and developed scenarios, a roadmap and a cash flow plan to align production capacity with strategic goals
- Led a €200 million site relocation for a defense company; managed strategic site master planning and shop floor design for the new facility, applied lean principles in the planning process, including building requirements specification, and managed the project’s realization phase
- Led a multi-industry factory, production and logistics planning project for a €500 million new site investment; focused on smart factory strategies, process optimization, digitization and automation; and developed a conceptual plan for use cases, including detailed requirements definition for a new site investment
- Led an operational excellence initiative for a special machinery company; performed a comprehensive analysis of key operational areas, facilitated shop floor implementation and coached leadership; resulted in 30% improvement in on-time delivery (“OTD”) during the project
- Led supply chain monitoring for a semiconductor machine supplier; designed a supply chain monitoring system, including N-tier supplier status tracking, led system requirements definition, evaluated software suppliers and managed pilot implementation to strengthen supply chain resilience
