About Stephanie
Stephanie Dorsey is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Risk & Investigations practice and is based in Washington, D.C. Ms. Dorsey specializes in intelligence collection and analysis, security program management and risk mitigation strategy and advisory, with experience spanning the national security, defense and intelligence sectors. A former Intelligence Community executive, she advises clients in strategic decision-making by providing intelligence and analysis that allows them to critically assess and mitigate legal, financial, regulatory and reputational risks.
At FTI Consulting, Ms. Dorsey advises clients on risk assessments, remediation strategies and regulatory investigations. She is an expert in identifying, collecting and analyzing information and intelligence from a variety of sources, including public records, commercial databases, social media and witnesses. She provides investigative, compliance and analytic solutions to clients across an array of industries, including legal and global financial services, consumer goods and technology.
Ms. Dorsey has led complex initiatives across the Central Intelligence Agency, Department of Homeland Security and Defense Intelligence Agency. Her work includes directing enterprise-level security programs, managing multimillion-dollar budgets and guiding global teams in high-stakes environments. She is recognized for her ability to integrate intelligence collection and analysis with practical risk mitigation strategies, advancing organizational performance and national security objectives.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Dorsey built a distinguished 28-year career in federal service, where she shaped policies and operational frameworks addressing counterproliferation, insider threats and crisis management. She has collaborated extensively with interagency partners and private industry leaders to enhance information sharing, governance and continuity planning. Her background is supported by advanced leadership education from Harvard University, the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and the FBI Domestic Security Executive Academy, as well as an M.A. in Russian and East European Studies from The George Washington University. She is an active mentor and thought leader in the corporate security community.
