Surabhi Dua has more than 12 years of experience in financial valuations and the assessment of quantum, financial and accounting issues in contentious and non-contentious matters.

Surabhi specialises in the assessment of quantum and financial, economic and valuation issues in a variety of contexts including post-acquisition disputes, shareholder disputes, contractual breaches and non-contentious matters. Surabhi has been involved in the preparation of numerous expert reports for submission in domestic and cross border litigation, domestic arbitrations in India and institutional arbitrations under the rules of the ICC, SIAC and UNCITRAL.

Surabhi has significant experience in valuations and financial modelling and developed several financial models to value and forecast different aspects of businesses in industries such as energy and power, petrochemicals, real estate, hospitality, automotive, retail and railways. Surabhi is featured in the 2026 edition of Lexology Index (previously Who’s Who Legal) as a future leader in arbitration expert witnesses.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, she worked with Goldman Sachs as an Analyst in Data Resource Group, Investment Banking Division. She also worked with Verity Knowledge Solutions (UBS Affiliate) as an Analyst in Mergers & Acquisitions Team focusing on various products offered in Equity Capital Market (IPOs, Follow-on) and Debt Capital Market.

Surabhi has co-authored the following articles: ‘Ordinary Times in Extraordinary Circumstances,’ an analysis of legal implications and damages considerations in light of COVID-19; ‘M&A Disputes in India: Legal Frameworks, Quantum Analysis, and Resolution Pathways’ for Lexology; and an article for the GAR Guide to Damages on Taxation and Currency Issues in Damages Awards.

Relevant Experience:

• Led the valuation of a coal-fired power plant in India in the context of a joint venture dispute under a SIAC arbitration
• Led the loss of profits analysis for an India-based solar power producer arising from a vendor’s failure to supply solar modules within the agreed timelines, in a SIAC arbitration
• Prepared an expert report responding to the claimant’s loss in a dispute relating to an iron ore supply agreement in a domestic arbitration in India
• Prepared an expert report assessing the value of intellectual property rights used by a company offering mobile app-based unsecured personal loans in India, in the context of a potential minority shareholder oppression dispute before the Singapore High Court
• Prepared multiple expert reports quantifying investor losses in the real estate sector across India and internationally (including the Maldives)
• Assisted in the preparation of an expert report on damages arising from alleged misrepresentation and breaches of a share purchase agreement and shareholders’ agreement, in relation to an acquisition in India by a U.S.-based company, in a SIAC arbitration
