William Pan is a Senior Managing Director in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment based in Hong Kong. Mr. Pan specializes in restructuring and insolvency services and has more than 16 years of experience providing services, ranging from due diligence and independent financial advisory engagements to interim management and enforcement mandates.
Mr. Pan has worked extensively with bank groups, private equity and debt funds, bondholders and corporations in restructuring, enforcement and financial advisory engagements. He has led assignments across a broad spectrum of industries.
Mr. Pan has been active in working with distress asset and special situation funds across Asia and is well known for representing lenders in receivership and interim management engagements. Mr. Pan is well versed in conducting these engagements across a range of jurisdictions including Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Luxembourg, France, Australia, the U.S. and Argentina, among others. Representative engagements in this area include Fullerton Health Care, Goldin Financial, Baccarat S.A., China Properties Group, CP Global and BMC Global.
Mr. Pan has been involved in a variety of high-profile restructuring and recovery engagements, with a focus on the financial services industry. Representative matters include Lehman Brothers Australia, BBY Group, Hennebun Capital, Octaviar Limited, LDK Solar Co. Limited and the Hastie Group.
Mr. Pan was retained by a listed Indonesian conglomerate for a scheme of arrangement of its subsidiaries, involving the restructuring of more than $2 billion in defaulted bonds. He also advised the lenders group on the successful restructuring of a Hong Kong-listed healthcare and life sciences company. His portfolio of experience in independent financial advisory engagements includes Noble Group, Asia Pulp & Paper, Tectura and Hang Seng Ginseng.
Mr. Pan has also undertaken a number of forensic and fraud review assignments on behalf of government bodies. He is well versed in formal insolvency appointments including liquidations (both in court and out of court), provisional liquidations, voluntary administrations, bankruptcy and schemes of arrangements.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Pan was at a leading restructuring firm in Sydney, Australia.
Mr. Pan holds a B.Comm. in Accounting and Business Law from the Macquarie University and regularly facilitates the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Insolvency Preparatory II course. Mr. Pan speaks fluent English and Mandarin.
