Charles Armitstead

Charles Armitstead is a Senior Managing Director and Head of UK Strategic Communications at FTI Consulting. Mr. Armitstead has more than 25 years’ experience advising listed companies across multiple sectors on all aspects of their financial and corporate communications.

Mr. Armitstead started his career at Financial Dynamics (“FD”), a global strategic communications firm acquired by FTI Consulting in 2006. At FD, he had postings in London, New York City and Washington D.C. During the global financial crisis, he co-led the company’s financial restructuring practice, advising businesses through negotiations with lenders. In 2011, he co-founded Pendomer Communications, which grew to become one of the leading advisors to the FTSE 250 before being sold to Teneo. From 2016, he ran Teneo’s Financial Communications practice in London, leading on several landmark transactions and growing it to become a Top 2 advisor to the FTSE 100 with a leading M&A practice.

Mr. Armitstead rejoined FTI Consulting in 2024. He is based in London, working across the firm’s multiple practice areas and disciplines, both in the UK and internationally.
