Clark Ansel specializes in providing a wide range of financial consulting and advisory services to both creditors and companies. With nearly two decades of experience in FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment, Mr. Ansel has in-depth knowledge of the energy industry, including oil and gas exploration and production (“E&P”), midstream, refining and oilfield services. He has also worked on engagements within the construction, engineering, defense, education, financial services, food and protein, insurance, gaming and retail industries.
Mr. Ansel has extensive experience in interim management, borrower and lender negotiations, business plan development, treasury and cash management and valuation services. Additionally, he is proficient in financial statement analysis, operational and financial modeling, asset sales, contingency planning, performance improvement and post-transaction services.
Mr. Ansel has served as a financial advisor to a variety of companies, during which he has advised and supported management on negotiations with creditors and other stakeholders; developed cash flow projections and pro-forma financial statements; assisted with refinancing credit facilities; advised on non-core asset sales; and supported all aspects of the contingency planning and bankruptcy process. He has also served in a financial advisory role for numerous creditor constituencies, where he’s advised lenders and noteholders through in- and out-of-court restructuring processes, including forbearance agreements, amendments to credit agreements, restructuring support agreements, debtor-in-possession (“DIP”) loan negotiations and debt-for-equity exchanges.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Ansel worked in the Corporate Finance group at AT&T. Before attending graduate school, Mr. Ansel held multiple positions at Trinity Industries, a large publicly traded industrial steel company.

Mr. Ansel’s recent representation of creditor constituencies includes the senior lenders of Babcock & Wilcox; the senior lenders of C&J Energy Services; the senior lenders of Caliber Midstream; the reserve-based lending (“RBL”) lenders of Chisholm Oil & Gas; the unsecured noteholders of Forbes Energy Services; the senior lenders of Heubach; the senior lenders of McDermott International; the DIP and exit facility lenders of Parker Drilling Company; the senior lenders of Preferred Sands; the senior lenders of T.D. Williamson; the asset-based lending (“ABL”) lenders of Team; the term loan lenders of Vista Proppants and Logistics; the revolving credit facility and term loan lenders of Weatherford; and financial advisory to the senior lenders of Zachry Industrial. Additionally, Mr. Ansel’s representation of unsecured creditors’ committees (“UCC”) includes Covia Holdings; Exploration Partners, Inc.; Samson Resources; and Vanguard Natural Resources and Energy.
