FTI Consulting was retained by a leading energy services company to provide interim chief information officer (“CIO”) and chief information security officer (“CISO”) services, perform a comprehensive technology, data and cybersecurity assessment and execute a wide-ranging technology transformation mandate.
Our Impact
- FTI Consulting reviewed and organized the client’s technology and data estate by developing live inventories for each.
- Our experts developed a comprehensive understanding of the client’s IT budget, including shadow IT spend.
- We consolidated business needs and more than 150 technology, data and cybersecurity projects and initiatives into a transformation roadmap and budget.
- FTI Consulting transformed the IT organization while executing critical initiatives, including cybersecurity, infrastructure and data analytics.
Our Role
- FTI Consulting stood up the reporting, business intelligence and data-warehousing function for the client including data assessment, platforms and governance.
- We overhauled the IT infrastructure and IT service domain and directly led the function in an interim IT director capacity. Our team also served as the interim CIO and virtual CISO for the organization, leading transformation mandate and initiatives.
- Our experts led workshops with business and IT leads to develop a 360-degree view of gaps, opportunities and future stakeholder needs, in addition to analyzing existing IT documentation to build a comprehensive baseline inventory.
- FTI Consulting developed and executed a transformation mandate, analyzed and benchmarked the IT budget, developed future-state budget scenarios and recommended cost-savings initiatives.
