Ian Duncan is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Performance Analytics Practice, based in Dublin. Ian has over 23 years’ experience as a transformation practitioner working with leaders and their teams to design, lead and execute large change programs. He has deep expertise in devising and supporting organisational change and building leadership capability to ‘own the change’ having worked with industry leaders across many sectors.
Prior to joining FTI, Ian was a managing director with KPMG Management Consulting. There he led an organisational redesign of a recently merged Irish government body and coached the business leader in its effective implementation. Prior to that, Ian established a change management consultancy where he developed a highly distinctive and effective methodology to deliver cultural transformations to clients in the UK and Ireland.
Throughout the past decade Ian has led numerous business transformations helping clients reinvent their business. He brings high energy and pragmatism that delivers upon the promised transformation outcomes. He is a skilled workshop facilitator and passionate about helping leaders build lasting capability.
Ian started his consulting career with a medium-sized business consultancy. There he led the Irish consulting practice providing business change and technology program management in the Insurance, Financial Services and Utilities sectors. Ian started his career working as a strategy analyst in a retail bank and subsequently spent seven years in London’s investment banking market working as a functional leader in Operations, Finance and as a Project Leader across a number of operational improvement programs.
Ian holds a Diploma in Executive Coaching from University College Dublin, a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors and a MBA from Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh Business School. He qualified as a Certified Accountant (FCCA) and is a Certified Management Consultant.
