Jeff Rhodes is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in San Francisco. He has more than 20 years of forensic accounting investigations, proactive forensic, compliance, dispute advisory, and public accounting experience.

Mr. Rhodes’ skills include performing and supervising investigations of alleged fraud in the areas of fraudulent financial reporting, misappropriation of assets, and bribery / Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) matters, regulatory compliance matters, fraud risk management, accounting and financial analyses in complex business litigation matters, investigative due diligence / third party risk management matters, neutral arbitrator and post-acquisition purchase price dispute matters, class action matters, contract compliance / royalty license reviews, and business interruption matters.

Mr. Rhodes has performed and supervised a number of investigative due diligence services engagements as part of his clients’ overall third-party risk management programs as well as in the context of fraud, corruption and other misconduct investigations. He also has performed and supervised a number of proactive fraud risk management and forensic data analysis assignments in an effort to assist companies in assessing their fraud risk management strategies and help them build compliance programs and processes for preventing, detecting and responding to fraud and misconduct.

Mr. Rhodes has performed and supervised a number of neutral accountant, arbitrator and court-appointed special master post-acquisition purchase price dispute matters. Claims in these matters have ranged from $1 million to over $800 million. These matters have included, but are not limited to, post-acquisition working capital disputes, earn-out disputes, accounting issues, and contract compliance disputes. Mr. Rhodes has also served as a consultant on numerous merger and acquisition disputes. He has worked with both buyers and sellers on the determination and documentation of numerous accounting issues related to the terms in merger and acquisition agreements.

Mr. Rhodes’ dispute advisory assignments have covered all aspects of the litigation process. Some of the skills that he brings to litigation matters include discovery and deposition assistance, analysis of financial data and other records, formulation of damage models, critiquing damage analyses, preparation of Rule 26 and other written reports, assistance with deposition and trial testimony, presentation of findings at mediations, and testimony at arbitration hearings.

Mr. Rhodes’ forensic assignments have been conducted in the U.S. and around the world and for clients in various industries including: high technology, energy, manufacturing, diversified industrials, financial services, insurance, leasing, retail, construction, government, not-for-profits, agribusiness, and healthcare.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Rhodes was a Managing Director in KPMG LLP’s Forensic Advisory Services practice. Prior to serving in KPMG’s Forensic Advisory Services practice, Mr. Rhodes worked in KPMG’s Audit practice where he performed and supervised audits of both public and private companies as well as several not-for-profit entities.
