Lou Colasuonno is a Senior Managing Director of the FTI Strategic Communications segment and is based in New York.

A former editor-in-chief of both the New York Post and the New York Daily News, Mr. Colasuonno provides strategic counsel, media expertise and communications training to a variety of corporations and high profile individuals. Mr. Colasuonno joined Financial Dynamics (which became part of FTI Consulting in 2006) in 2005, using his 23 years of media experience, strong contacts and an intimate understanding of the contemporary journalist to craft and direct proactive corporate media campaigns, manage both private and corporate crisis situations and advise senior managers of national and international companies.

Mr. Colasuonno is also the senior communications/presentation trainer at FTI, where he trains executives of companies going through times of change or crisis, often in preparation for interviews with the national and foreign media. Mr. Colasuonno has trained executives from all sectors including most recently Master Card, Credit Suisse, Diageo, Dresdner Kleinwort, CIT, various hedge funds and asset management firms, AIU (AIG’s foreign insurance group), Duane Reade and P Diddy to name a few.

Prior to that time, Mr. Colasuonno was a partner at Westhill Partners, a strategic consulting firm based in New York, representing clients across a broad spectrum, including Diageo, the world’s largest alcohol beverage company; Alfred A. Taubman, former chairman of Sotheby’s; Versace S.p.A. (both the corporation and the family); ICAP, the leading global interdealer broker; Peter Bacanovic, Martha Stewart’s co-defendant; and author/columnist Dominick Dunne, among others.

Before joining Westhill, Mr. Colasuonno was a principal at The Dilenschneider Group, a New York communications/public relations firm.

In 1993, Mr. Colasuonno joined the New York Daily News as editor-in-chief, responsible for all editorial content and the day-to-day operation of one of the preeminent tabloid newspapers in the nation.

Prior to joining The Daily News, Mr. Colasuonno spent more than two decades at The New York Post, rising from copy boy to editor-in-chief.
