Matt is a Managing Director in the Construction Solutions practice within FTI Consulting’s Forensic and Litigation Consulting segment. Matt has more than 15 years of experience in providing construction solutions advisory services.
Over the course of his career, Matt has focused on the development and management of major capital and infrastructure programs across numerous industry verticals including transportation, power and utilities, public works, real estate, healthcare and manufacturing. Matt has worked with numerous public agencies as well as Fortune 500 clients to plan, manage and implement hundreds of billions of dollars in capital investments specializing in the areas of project prioritization, funding and financing, project management oversight, construction management technology, business process design, operating models, organizational assessments and construction dispute support.
Matt has significant experience with the development and execution of major capital construction programs including performing gap analyses and improving business process design across the project life cycle. He has developed and implemented large-scale capital project management organizations, supporting technology systems and project management processes including scope, cost, schedule, procurement, contracting and risk management. Matt also specializes in developing enterprise risk management frameworks for capital programs and performing Monte Carlo simulation risk analyses to evaluate potential cost and schedule outcomes, assess risks and develop mitigation strategies to improve cost and schedule performance.
Matt has provided dispute support services for numerous large-scale construction claims including assessing schedule delays and cost damages, developing supporting claim documentation and providing expert reports. He has significant experience using construction industry scheduling software to analyze schedule progress and delay, as well as experience reviewing construction cost accounting records and project management reporting in support of analyzing claims.
Matt holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees in engineering from the University of Michigan. He is a Certified Project Management Professional, Certified Construction Auditor and a member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International. Matt is a frequent speaker and published author on numerous capital projects topics such as construction risk management and project management oversight processes and controls.
