Paul Prior is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Dublin. Paul works in the Global Insurance Services practice and is a member of the Forensic and Litigation Consulting segment.

Paul has more than a decade of experience in designing and executing strategic change in regulation, risk, digital transformation and analytics across Ireland, the UK, North American, South Africa and South America. His primary domains of expertise are retail banking, insurance and fund administration.

Paul recently worked with a top global banking group to develop a strategy to remove 60% of costs from the business through simplification and automation of the underlying processes, stabilisation of the core technology platforms to ensure a single source of information and establishing an R&D and innovation capability which accelerates the development of new products and services.

He has worked with six global insurers over a three year period across the U.S. and Canadian markets, implementing large-scale transformational change programmes spanning bodily injury, subrogation, workers compensation, life, travel and motor products.

For one of the leading national banks, Paul led a programme to implement the entire second line of defence across operational risk, touching on retail, commercial, business and corporate banking in addition to deposits and mortgages. For another leading national bank, he led a programme to implement the Target Operating Model for Basel III and COSO II, which traversed every division within the bank, advising regularly at the Audit Committee and Board level.

Paul has advised the health insurance sector on the capacity to introduce e-claims at a national level across all insurers and public and private hospitals. This involved investigating the scope for standardisation of claims processing across the three main insurers, updating of all core technology platforms and agreement from consultants and providers of health services to digitalise their processing in a standard fashion.
