Yunsoo Kim is a Managing Director in the Real Estate Solutions practice and specializes in valuation for asset acquisitions, divestiture, financing and financial reporting. She has over 20 years of experience in real estate valuation and consulting, she has served numerous corporate, private equity and hedge fund clients in a wide variety of assignments, including portfolio valuation, underwriting, and appraisal reviews.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Kim was a Director at Duff & Phelps mainly working on valuation, assurance, and fairness opinions on real estate assets owned by numerous private equity clients and multinational clients. Before that, she was a Director of Corporate Finance for CNL Income Corp, a private REIT company in Orlando. At CNL, she led the development of corporate financial model, reviewed quarterly financial performance and reviewed real estate asset underwriting. Prior to CNL, she was the Regional Pricing Analyst for Asia with GE Real Estate, based in Seoul, Korea, where she led the underwriting and investment approval process for real estate assets totaling over $1 billion. At GE, she focused on pricing/underwriting various non-performing loan portfolios as well as performing real property assets.
Prior to GE, Yunsoo was a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers’ (PwC) Financial Advisory Services. At PwC, she gained significant experience in valuation and underwriting by preparing appraisals and investment summary for single assets, loans and portfolios. She has reviewed performing and non-performing debt investments in excess of $1 billion, located throughout the U.S. and Asia.
Ms. Kim holds a B.S. in housing and interior design from Yonsei University South Korean and a M.M.H. in hospitality from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. She is a Certified Financial Analyst and a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York and a Member of the Appraisal Institute. She is a member of the Certified Financial Analyst Institute.
