Former MEP Ondřej Kovařík Joins FTI Consulting as a Senior Advisor
Brussels, 28 May 2026 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the appointment of Ondřej Kovařík as a Senior Advisor to its Strategic Communications segment, further strengthening the firm’s political advisory capabilities in the European financial services sector.
Until recently, Mr. Kovařík was a Member of the European Parliament (“MEP”). In his role at FTI Consulting, he will advise clients on how to navigate the complexity of European financial services law-making and their engagement with European Union (“EU”) institutions.
“Amid geopolitical volatility, financial services sits at the heart of Europe’s economic future, as policymakers face challenging issues concerning monetary sovereignty, capital markets reform, investment competitiveness and rapid technological change,” said Robrecht Vandormael, Head of the Financial Services practice within FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communication segment in Brussels. “Ondřej’s work on landmark European financial legislation, combined with his understanding of the European Parliament, will further boost our advisory capacity at a time when clients need informed judgement, political insight and a clearer view of how to navigate policy decisions that will shape Europe’s next chapter.”
Mr. Kovařík served as a Czech Republic MEP from 2019 to 2025, where he sat on the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and chaired the Working Group for Access to Finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (“SME”). He was a lead negotiator on the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (“MiCA”) and played a central role in revising the Payment Services Directive to shape the EU’s approach to digital finance. Mr. Kovařík’s legislative portfolio also encompassed emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, the open finance framework and SME financing. He also led work on transport and tourism.
Prior to his parliamentary career, Mr. Kovařík worked in public administration at Czech institutions, including the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Government, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ottawa, the Czech Ministry of Defence and the European Parliament.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Kovařík said, “The regulatory and political decisions being made in Brussels today will shape Europe’s financial sector and economic competitiveness for years to come. I look forward to using my experience to help FTI Consulting’s clients understand and anticipate the factors driving change as Europe positions itself in the global economy.”
