Robrecht Vandormael

Robrecht Vandormael is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting in Brussels and heads the Financial Services industry. Robrecht is a regulatory and political affairs expert, advising companies in financial services with a particular focus on digital finance, payments and investment management.

Robrecht works with government affairs leaders, general counsels and C-suite executives, helping them understand and manage complex policy and regulatory issues that impact their business. He also advises clients on political reputation campaigns and is a recognized expert in coalition building, having established several trade associations and ad-hoc coalitions. Robrecht joined FTI Consulting in 2015. Before that, he worked in consultancy and at the European Commission.

In addition to client work and industry expertise, Mr. Vandormael oversees the global Affiliate Network for FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications segment. In this role, he monitors the firm’s footprint beyond its network of whole owned offices.  

Robrecht earned his M.P.A. from the SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan and his Masters in European Politics and Economics, cum laude, from the University of Leuven. Additionally, he graduated magna cum laude with an M.A. in Contemporary History from the University of Leuven.
