FTI Consulting Bolsters Economic Consulting Segment with Appointment of Mining Sector Expert Jim Taylor as Managing Director
London, 21 May 2019 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the appointment of Jim Taylor as a Managing Director in the firm’s Economic Consulting segment. He will be based in London.
Mr Taylor has over 30 years of experience of valuing mining companies and projects globally, with a focus on the emerging market regions including South America, West and Central Africa and Central Asia. He has spent the majority of his career as a mining equities analyst in London, most recently serving as Head of Research at RFC Ambrian. He also has worked for firms including Smith New Court, Yorkton Securities, Canaccord Adams and Renaissance Capital.
During his time as an analyst, Mr Taylor acquired a deep understanding of the mining sector. He has covered companies from across the commodities spectrum and development cycle and co-authored reports on the mineral sands sector, the coking coal sector and the West African gold sector. He also co-authored a seminal book on Africa’s economy, The Fastest Billion: The Story Behind Africa’s Economic Revolution. Mr Taylor holds a BSc Honors degree in Mining Engineering and a Diploma of Associateship from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College.
