FTI Consulting Bolsters Public Affairs Practice in South Africa with the Appointment of Jeremy Michaels as Managing Director
Johannesburg, 29 May 2019 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the continued expansion of its business in South Africa with the appointment of Jeremy Michaels as a Managing Director. He will be based in Cape Town.
Mr Michaels leads a new country-wide role of Group Public Affairs across all FTI Consulting segments in South Africa, working closely with Coenraad Bezuidenhout, Head of Public Affairs within Strategic Communications. Mr Michaels will be responsible for assisting and advising clients across the firm on engagements within the public and private sectors and expanding FTI Consulting’s reach into key sectors such as mining.
Mr Michaels brings 25 years of experience to FTI Consulting, most recently serving as Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs at Ivanhoe Mines. He has also held the role of Head of Communication & International Relations at the Department of Mineral Resources and was a senior political correspondent through South Africa’s first decade of democracy.
