FTI Consulting Expands Strategic Communications Segment in China with Key Hires

Shanghai, 12 January 2021 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the expansion of its Strategic Communications segment in China with the appointment of Rachel Hsueh as a Managing Director and the Head of China for Strategic Communications at FTI Consulting. Jasey Jiang and Darren Chia also join the firm as Directors. The three professionals will work alongside Joanne Wong in Hong Kong and Tom Evrard in Singapore and will be based in Shanghai.

With over 20 years of communications consultancy experience and an in-depth understanding of policy and its impact on stakeholders, Ms. Hsueh has extensive experience working with clients in Greater China advising on reputation management, issues and crisis management, public affairs, government relations, media relations, and social and digital strategy. She has deep sector expertise in automotive, manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, telecommunications, technology, real estate, retail and consumer products.

A seasoned issues and crisis communications trainer, Ms. Hsueh holds a Ph.D. from Renmin University in China and has focused her research on stakeholder management and crisis communications. She has conducted C-suite executive media training in China, assisted multinational companies in building their China communications strategy, helped expand Chinese companies’ global footprints by conducting cross-region communications strategy campaigns, and secured high-level exposure for clients in leading media outlets and on digital platforms.

Ms. Jiang is a strategic communications consultant with over seven years of experience both in the U.S. and China, where she advises a wide client portfolio including financial institutions, banking, real estate and consumer goods. Mr. Chia has over six years of experience in the U.S. and China advising multinational corporations, where he provides strategic counsel to primarily the healthcare sector and focuses on enhancing stakeholder engagement, orchestrating traditional and social media campaigns as well as raising their profile in the China market.
