Laura Huntley Comments on U.S. Credit Card Interest Rate Cap Proposal

Washington, D.C., Jan. 12, 2026 — Laura Huntley, a Managing Director within the Financial Services practice at FTI Consulting, comments on the recent U.S. proposal to cap credit card interest rates in an interview with Bloomberg Law. Ms. Huntley suggests that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau stood on firmer ground with prior attempts to cap fees than it does with interest rates. “Fees aren’t interest rates, so we need not conflate those,” she said.
