Denis Reynolds

Denis Reynolds is responsible for FTI Consulting’s Canadian Financial Services practice within the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment. He brings more than 30 years of experience advising domestic and globally significant financial institutions in Canada, European Union, United Kingdom and U.S. He has led complex regulatory and business-driven transformational projects in retail and commercial banking, investment banking, wealth management, credit cards, global payments, insurance and financial services fintech firms. At FTI, he provides trusted advisory consulting services, at Board and C-suite levels, by proactively curating FTI’s industry insights and expertise to assist clients to manage change, mitigate risk and resolve disputes, focused on business outcomes, value for investment and assisting clients to own and manage their future success. Denis is also responsible for continuing to grow FTI’s Financial Services team of highly skilled professionals to serve clients in Toronto and across Canada.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Denis held senior leadership roles at a Big 4 management consultancy firm, serving as global Client Lead Partner for one of the firm’s largest Canadian financial services clients, with a significant focus on building senior executive relationships and brand permission for management consulting and advisory services, locally and internationally. He also led their Banking Finance Transformation national practice.

Prior to moving to Canada in 2016, Denis held similar senior partner roles at the same Big 4 firm in London for over 25 years, where he led complex regulatory back book reviews, remediation programs, investigations and large-scale, business-led performance improvement, finance function and risk management change programs. 

Clients seek out Denis’ expertise to assist them in navigating and cutting through the noise in large-scale complex business and regulatory-driven projects. He is known for analyzing issues through his clients’ eyes and aligning solutions to meet their needs, whether it’s improving total shareholder returns or customer experiences; increasing revenue, EBITDA, or return on capital; complying with legal and regulatory requirements; or achieving ESG goals. He combines his expertise and extensive professional network to design and deliver innovative insights and effective change solutions. His knowledge and experience enable him to assist clients to deploy a balanced use of ERP, Cloud technologies, digital and automation solutions to enhance business intelligence, simplify data management, increase speed and agility, reduce cost, and mitigate risk. He also collaborates with clients to integrate effective change management and knowledge transfer to empower them for the future.

Denis is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW), and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, Canada.
