Edward Bridges

Edward Bridges is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting. He works in the Strategic Communications segment, and is based in London. Mr. Bridges joined the firm in 1994, and leads the Strategic Communications’ Special Situations team. Over the past 20 years, he has specialised in advising firms in developing communications strategies to support their corporate ambitions through capital markets funded growth.

Mr. Bridges's team has advised on many equity IPO, recapitalisations and debt issuances and restructurings. Since 1999 Mr. Bridges has advised on the FTSE-100 IPOs of Dimension Data and Partygaming (now Bwinparty), advised some of the UK’s most substantial IT and Software businesses on their financial calendar and M&A communications strategies (including HP’s acquisition of Autonomy; EADS’s proposed merger with BAE Systems and the proposed acquisition of Shire by AbbVie) as well as the IPO of Amadeus IT Holdings, one of the largest Spanish IPOs of the past 5 years.

Mr. Bridges's debt capital market experience includes the restructurings undertaken by INEOS (the world’s third largest chemicals company) Wind Hellas, Weather Investments, as well as Travelport, British Vita, RUSAL and Dubai World. He has also advised on high yield issuances by Kerling plc, INEOS, Wind Telecommunicazione and InterXion.

Mr. Bridges's current client base includes major UK-listed businesses as well as significant European and global private equity firms whom he advises on reputation management and communications undertaken by their portfolio companies. Mr. Bridges co-heads our UK activism practice which has advised numerous UK and European businesses on their defence strategies.
