Sara Powell is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting. She is a member of the Strategic Communications practice and is based in London.
Sara joined FTI Consulting in 2012 advising natural resources clients on both corporate reputation management, issues and crisis management, financial communications around IPOs, M&A and private placements. Sara’s expertise in corporate reputation management has seen her work with various private and publically listed companies including South32, Seplat Petroleum, Heritage Oil, Kerogen Capital, Access Power and Zennor Petroleum.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Sara worked at The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), the philanthropic organisation formally linked to The Children’s Investment Fund (TCI Asset Management.) Sara worked within the Leverage team which was responsible for maximising and extending the impact of CIFF’s grants in India and Sub-Saharan Africa through high-level advocacy efforts targeted at decision-makers within government development funds, multilateral agencies and philanthropic foundations.
- In 2016, she advised Zennor Petroleum on its acquisition of First Oil Expro’s North Sea assets from its administrators KPMG.
- In 2015, she advised South32 on its demerger from BHP Billiton.
- In 2014, she advised Heritage Oil on its acquisition by Al Mirqab Capital, Caracal Energy on its acquisition by Glencore, and Mediterranean Oil & Gas on its acquisition by Rockhopper, and advised the consortium of founding shareholders on their acquisition of ENRC.
- Also in 2014 she advised Seplat Petroleum on its IPO, the first London / Lagos dual listing, raising US$500 million.
