About Alan
Alan Voyles has more than 15 years of consulting and corporate strategy experience. Alan focuses on commercial due diligence (“CDD”) growth strategy and evaluating the go-to-market aspects of a business. His clients have included financial sponsors, C-suite officers and both public and private corporations and public sector institutions.
Alan has deal experience on both the buy- and sell-side that ranges from lower middle-market transactions to deals of over $12 billion in expertise value. He has pre- and post-deal expertise across commercial due diligence, market assessment voice of the customer programs and acquisition target search and screens. In addition, he has experience in value creation, divestment support and exit planning. He has led more than 40 commercial due diligence and market assessment engagements.
Alan’s past experiences in financial analysis, advising clients on business valuation related to M&A transactions and in corporate strategy, leading go-to-market initiatives for a large strategic, offer him perspective on the relationship between financial projections and both internal (e.g., sales and delivery capabilities) and external (e.g., market trends) factors.
Relevant Experience:
- Engaged by a $14 billion assets under management (“AUM”) private equity client to perform buy-side CDD on a commercial driver training services vendor where he was tasked with evaluating management’s revenue forecast, competitive dynamics, market growth drivers and trends (e.g., increasing litigation, regulation changes) and performed voice of the customer research
- Engaged by the CEO of an approximately $140 million services provider to logistics and transportation end markets (e.g., UPS, Knight-Swift) to quantify market size, evaluate the market growth outlook and key trends (e.g., delivery driver shortages, rise of e-commerce), assess attractive new growth opportunities and present diligence to multiple potential buyers; this resulted in the company being sold to a $20 billion AUM private equity firm
- Engaged by the CEO of a mid-market industrial services provider to evaluate the market growth outlook and key underlying market trends and present diligence to potential buyers; this resulted in the client being sold to Dover Corporation (NYSE:DOV)
