Aled Williams

Aled Williams is a Senior Advisor at FTI Consulting. He is a member of the Strategic Communications practice and is based in Brussels. Aled advises clients on a range of regulatory, political and communication issues.

Having worked with the EU and with global companies, Aled has excellent knowledge of the European policy making environment and the role that political communications plays in shaping issues, policies and crises. As well as strategy and positioning advice, Aled provides media relations and crisis support to clients, advising on messaging, media strategy and outreach. Aled has deep experience of working in both government and consulting over the past 15 years and brings a unique combination of political, policy, and communications expertise.

Aled is the former spokesman and head of communications at the UK Government’s Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels, where he was responsible for briefing the EU press corps on the UK’s EU policies, as well as advising internally on how to use media and digital channels to achieve the Government's objectives. Aled knows how the media landscape works and has an extensive journalist network in Brussels and London.

Aled holds a B.Sc., Economics in Politics and Modern History and a M.Sc., Economics in the European Policy Process from Cardiff University.
