Alexander Van Tuyn

Alexander Van Tuyn is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance segment and is based in Miami. Mr. Van Tuyn has more than 12 years of corporate finance experience across a range of industries, including utilities, thermal power, renewable energy, electric vehicles, supply chain, equipment rentals and business services.

Mr. Van Tuyn has led numerous engagements covering interim management, business transformation, turnaround and restructuring, due diligence, strategic advisory, business plan development and review, as well as valuation. He has worked closely with major financial institutions, private equity sponsors and alternative capital providers, including Ares, Blackrock, Carlyle, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, KeyBank, Sandbrook Capital, Strategic Value Partners, the U.S. Department of Energy Loan Program Office (“LPO”) and Vision Ridge.

Mr. Van Tuyn has held formal officer and interim management roles on numerous occasions, including as Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Vice President of Finance for various client portfolio companies. Additionally, he has led operational and financial due diligence reviews on behalf of private equity and commercial banking clients.

Relevant Experience:

• Served as interim CFO for a PE-backed equipment rental business, where he was responsible for carving out the business from its parent company and building the finance and accounting department from the ground up
• Acted as an interim finance manager for a global solar engineering, procurement and construction (“EPC”) company, where he worked on site in the United States, Germany, Singapore and the United Kingdom to implement restructuring strategies and carve out key businesses within the organization
• Functioned as interim head of financial planning and analysis (“FP&A”) for a diversified, independent power producer, where he supported more than $1 billion in new debt capital markets activity in connection with the financing of various ring-fenced special purpose vehicles (“SPVs”)
• Provided interim management services to a publicly traded utility and worked with the CFO and VP of Finance on initiatives to improve various operational and reporting functions within the department
• Served as financial advisor to the Department of Energy’s LPO across more than 20 Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing (“ATVM”) and Title-17 loan originations, totaling more than $60 billion, while responsible for each deal’s underwriting model and advising the LPO on loan structuring terms and evaluating financial impacts of key business plan risks and sensitivities
